Frequently Asked Questions

What date do I enter as a start date? Is it the date I want the kit to arrive or the date I want to start using it?

Enter the date that you want the equipment to arrive. Eg you want a GPS for the weekend, enter Friday's date and we'll get the GPS to you on the Friday so that you have the whole weekend to use it and post it back on the Monday.

If you're travelling then we strongly recommend getting the kit a couple of days before you fly, you never know when traffic or bad weather might delay the delivery.

How do I return the equipment when I have finished hiring it?

We ship the equipment with a return address label and instructions for packing and return. Retain all the packaging for reuse when returning the kit. For larger items (eg hiking kit, canoes, etc) we will arrange collection and you will need to be available to hand over the equipment being collected, unless otherwise stated the shipping charge will be both ways for courier items. Smaller items (GPSs, Gopros etc) will need to be taken to the post office for posting back to us, for posted items the shipping charge covers postage to you and you'll have to pay the return when posting back.

I want to hire equipment for different time periods than those offered.

Contact us to discuss bespoke hires, we are very happy to hire out equipment for any time period.

I am hiring equipment for a weekend. When will it arrive?

We ship the equipment to arrive the day before your hire starts, so for a weekend hire it will arrive on the Friday before. For larger consignments someone must be available to sign for the delivery.

What if I can't be there to accept delivery?

How do the standard hire periods work?

We don't have standard hire periods, we just use, weekend, week and two week periods for convenience. You can hire kit for as long as you like, starting and finishing on any dates. Just let us know the delivery and collection dates that suit you and we'll send you a quote or you can use our online shopping cart to book your hire.

Do the prices shown on the website include delivery charges?

No. We will charge you what it costs us to courier or post the hire kit to you and that will depend on what you hire and where we have to deliver the equipment. Please check our 'How the Shipping Works' page for more details about the shipping.

I am hiring a canoe, will I get paddles and lifejackets with it?

Our canoes are all two man canoes and the hire package for each includes two double bladed paddles and two adult PFDs (lifejackets). If more PFDs are required please email us with details or hire them here.

Can you ship my hire equipment to anywhere in the UK?

We deliver overnight to addresses within mainland GB, except to PH, PA, IV, KW and AB postcodes. If you need delivery to these postcodes or delivery to Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scottish Islands and Channel Islands please email us and we will give you a full quotation.
